Because you liked the fire by sinccolor Because you liked the fire by sinccolor
11" x 17" @ 450 DPI. Art by Jim Lee, Scott Williams and Alex Sinclair. I got a lot of positive comments about the fire on the Freddy/Ash/Jason piece so I decided to add this bad boy too. This was used as a cover for PS magazine to help promote the DC Online game. I always try to create the best FX on the stuff I do. I am a huge fan of the ILM so when I am trying to create something I always use the ol' "what would ILM do here?" approach. Fire, metal and smoke/fog are some of my favorites. Art and characters are ©DC COMICS.

It's kind of a combo, or better said, what Jim feels like drawing at the time.

Absolutely amazing colors. Seeing work like this reminds me just how powerful the characters actually are, which I find especially gratifying in this age when many want to make our heroes less so.

I can't, but there's a good chance I will be selling prints of it at this year's San Diego Comic Con. I will be in Artists Alley. Hope to see you there! And thanks for the favs.

man i've always loved jim lee's rendition of batman. he just makes him feel so badass. and those blue hues you adding to him make him look crazy sick... like he's .2 seconds away from punching the joker in the face. what made you decide to go with the blue hues out of curiosity.

I went deep blue to make him jump forward since there's so much warm color in the composition.

I gotts ask, were you the one that did that run of Batman with Jim Lee? The 5 part graphic novel about the "return" of the original Robin? Because that's the one that made me a fan of both you guys, and I recognise those colors. (I'm gonna feel stupid if it wasn't you LOL)

i appreciate what you did with Lee's stuff, you can definitely see your touch with the blurred fire in certain areas as well as the detailed elements of it too. You did your thing here, would love to see you guys give this same spotlight to each character as you did with bats here=]

Awesome stuff.
Would you have preferred it had Jim and Scott not rendered the negative space in the back so you were free to do the fire from the ground up or do you prefer having something there to work from?

Nah--Jim's such a well-rounded artist that he draws anticipating inks and colors. The other stuff actually breaks up the space nicely and makes a better composition.
